"Everyone had a crappy day, to be honest.
Robin was having one of his moods with Slade stuck on the brain.
He had a really hard time shaking it.
Meanwhile it felt like every time I turned around something annoying, bad or stupid would happen.
Then, because I can feel now, the irritation would only bring on more feelings of irritation over things completely unrelated to the events, and it was kind of a mess.
Needless to say, the others gave me space.
Robin distanced himself a lot; I wanted to go to him and try to heal his mind, but in my own condition I didn't see it as a real possibility.
Then to top it all off, we had a rough fight with Overload that evening.
Yeah, getting electrocuted repeatedly makes a bad day worse, in case you didn't know.
Also water no longer takes him out, which is great.
He was robbing a convenience store, because God only knows what a living computer chip with corporeal electrical limbs could want in there.
The only thing that went remotely well (before we defeated him) was when Cyborg threw, and I kid you not, a box of condoms at him.
They hit him square in the face, and it was honestly hilarious.
The fact that they were literally rubber was what reminded us that that was what we needed; rubber.
Hopefully next time we remember that faster, and have more available to us than a box of sperm-stoppers.

It was around 11 that night when we were home and had cooled off.
Despite our good laugh, we were all just fed up and worn out.
Everyone just sort of branched off and did their own thing.
But I was worried about Robin, so I did finally go and find him in his room.
We sat together and talked a bit.
By that point, I wasn't as irritable as I had been earlier, so talking was smooth."

They were both leaning on their sides, facing each other on the bed.
Raven was calm and easing in nature, but Robin was visibly drained, if not a little distant.

"I can fix it for you."

"You don't have to."

        "I know.
I wish I had earlier, though..."

Robin looked up at her.

"Huh?
Oh, no Raven, I was -- it's fine, I'm fine."

When she shot him a challenging look of apathy, Robin couldn't help but to instantly laugh a little and run a hand through his hair, guilty.

"Okay, I've been a little messed up, but it's really not that bad.
And...you know I like space anyway, so..."

Raven stared at him for a good while.
When he finally noticed the silence, Robin looked up at her nervously, unable to predict what she would do or say.

        "...Sit up."

"Raven--"

"Come on, you know the routine."

She sat up and crossed her legs Indian style while Robin slowly rose up off the bed's surface, sighing quietly.

"Okay, I'm coming," he said tiredly.

Raven smiled softly, knowing he truly didn't have any aversion to the therapy, but that he was just ragged out.
He crawled up to her and laid down again, on his back this time, and leaned back until his head was in her lap.
As he settled in, Raven gently took his mask off and laid it aside.
Light walnut eyes met deep blue-violet ones, and when their gazes met, Robin smiled again, because of her.

"Sorry if I've been difficult today..."

"There's nothing to be sorry for.
Close your eyes,"
she said softly, and took his face into her hands.

"I spent about ten minutes healing his mind.
My doing this doesn't make the problem go away, it just helps soothe it and make it easier to cope with.
It takes the sting away, so to speak.
When I finished we just kind of sat there, unsure of what to do next.
Honestly we considered saying "screw it" and just going to bed, but something...came over me."

"You know, I know we're both kind of tired, but...I've been thinking about something lately."

"Yeah?"

"I wanna try something new, something I think might be relaxing.
Well...if you want to, because...maybe it's stupid, I don't know..."

Robin smiled a little and tilted his head to see her face better.

"You know I'm not going to think that."

Raven nodded and looked off, partially rolling her eyes because it was true.
She was just so introverted sometimes, even though they'd already done enough for her to be more relaxed when coming up with new ideas.

"So, what'd you have in mind?"

        "Okay, well...
We both had a rough day, we're sore, we're tired, and we should probably go to bed, but now seems like a good time to...maybe..."

Her voice trailed off and she looked away shyly.

"Try taking a bath together...for the first time..."

Robin's eyes lit up a little.
More than anything, he seemed pleasantly surprised.

"Oh.
Hey, that actually sounds nice."

He smiled.
Raven quickly looked at him and pointed, voice still soft but stern.

"And I don't mean we get in there and start getting nasty, I just want to take a bath with you."

"HAHAha!"

Robin held his hands up to show he surrendered.

"No no, I know that!
I wasn't -- sex wasn't actually the first thing on my mind.
This time."

They both chuckled and came in a little closer, each relaxing.

"I think it's a really good idea."

"We didn't do bubbles or anything, nothing fancy.
No candles, either.
There was a little nightlight on the wall, so we just turned the lights off and let that be enough.
Looking back I can't believe how...nervous, I still was, since we'd already had sex a good few times before then.
We'd seen each other naked and then some, but I guess it's just different; a new first.
It's like when you make love the night before, then wake up and try to conceal yourself a little while getting dressed.
Just the dynamics of intimacy.
I expected him to be more nervous than me because, I mean...it's Robin.
He's always been more reserved than anyone, but that's gone down a bit since we started seeing each other.
I think sex is doing something to his brain...
Not anything I can see that's bad, though, so I guess there's no reason to stop.~
Hmmm...
It was my idea, hmhmhm, but he still had to get me through it."

Once they were both out of their clothes, Raven spontaneously started to laugh quietly, bits of black energy pooling on the floor off and on.
Robin turned to her, infected enough by her sounds to smile big, amused.

"What?"

Raven waved her hand at him, trying to get a grip on herself while covering her chest with one arm.

        "I -- I don't know...!"

"Are you cracking up?"

"Hahahah no, don't, just -- just--"

He stepped up close and studied her, able to see her face get redder in the dim light.

"Are you having bath-time jitters?" he asked with a slight giggle of his own.

Raven lightly pushed his shoulder with her free hand.

        "No!"

"Nervous?"

        "No, I'm fine."

Robin squinted his eyes a little, but still smiled with a more sensitive tone.

"You having second thoughts?"

At that, Raven's smile ran away.

"No, I'm not, it's just new."

"Oh, yeah.
Want me to get in first?"

Raven nodded, absentmindedly chewing on her lip.
Robin happily took her hand and started to walk with her to the tub, his grin only growing when he heard her start to laugh quietly out of nerves again behind him.

        "Hm...hmhmHMhmhm!"

"Are you gonna make it?"

        "Not so loud...!"

He turned and looked at her.

"Me?
You're
laughing!"

She gently swatted as his arm.

        "I said shush...!"

He bobbed his head back and offered a whispered, playful "Oh-KAY...!" before letting go of her hand and stepping calmly into the tub.
Raven covered her mouth with her hand, the other arm still covering her chest while she watched him quietly.
It wasn't as if Robin wasn't a little self conscious, but he considered it wasn't so different from when they were intimate.
More than anything he looked forward to his, but he understood why Raven was a little clammed up.
He eased himself in and leaned back against the tub end, relaxing with a sigh.

"Ohh God, I'm already glad we're doing this.
You wanna come in now?"

        "Yeah,"
she uttered gingerly.

Robin sat up and offered a hand, helping her in.
She was going to sit beside him at first, but as she stepped in she couldn't seem to resist settling down nervously into his lap.
They locked eyes, hers wide while his remained calm and easing.

"Oh God oh God oh God..."

Robin chuckled and held her waist, and she carefully sat on his lap, holding onto his shoulders.

"You good?"

        "Yeah..."

She smiled finally, appearing less tense while the nerves melted off.

        "Yeah, I'm good."

She moved back a little so she could lean into him.
Wet, warm hands wrapped around her back, the sound of the disturbed water resonating in the hollow, enclosed space.

"And then all at once, everything was okay.
I wasn't nervous, I wasn't uncertain.
I laid on his chest, closed my eyes.
We didn't get physical, we just spent time together.
Moved around, held each other, relaxed.
I think we spent about half an hour in there.
A little touching, a little, kissing, but a lot of love.

To be honest, I was never much of a bath person.
You'd think I would be into that sort of thing, but I'm not.
I like to get in, shower, and get out.
But when it came to him, that changed a little.
That was...genuinely, the best bath I've ever taken.
Just me, him, and the hot water.
Nothing fancy, no big expectations.
Just us.
I could sense him, I could feel his mood getting better.
I felt better, too.
I felt drunk in that water, like a good drunk.
Drunk in his hands, drunk off his care.
It was a different kind of intimate.
Everything crappy that'd happened earlier that day didn't really seem to matter anymore.
I got over my issues, Robin stopped thinking about Slade, and we both forgot about Overload.
And I have to admit, it was kind of fun to have to be quiet.
We...still experiment with that from time to time, ahem...

When we were done we went back to his room.
I know I'd said I didn't want to do anything randy in the tub, but once we were in his room, and it was dark, aaand we both felt so euphoric..."

"What happened to no sex?"

"I said not in the tub.
I never said we couldn't do it
after the bath."

Robin grinned and crawled up next to her, his crouched body resembling something akin to that of an animal.

"You are one sly little lady, Raven."

"It wasn't like it was mindless; we made love.
It reminded me a lot of the bath, really.
Easy, warm, slow, comforting.
Healing.
When we were done, we passed out and slept past sunrise.
That was a bit new for him, hah, but he didn't mind.
We had a great day after that, we felt brand new.
...Why tell this story?
Well, I guess the moral is if you have a bad day, find a way to make it better.
If you have to include the ones you love to make that happen, then do just that."
